Eryn & Mitch | A Heartfelt Taft Museum Wedding Weekend in Cincinnati

Some love stories feel destined from the very beginning, and Eryn and Mitch’s wedding weekend was a beautiful reminder that true soulmates do exist. Filled with heartfelt moments, meaningful traditions, personal vows, and an unforgettable celebration surrounded by family and friends, their Cincinnati wedding weekend was as emotional as it was joyful.

Planned by One Fine Day, the festivities began with an intimate rehearsal dinner at Nada, where loved ones gathered for a multi-course meal and an evening of storytelling. Touching speeches from the Maid of Honor, Best Man, the groom’s parents, and even the couple’s planner set the tone for the weekend. In a full-circle moment, the planner shared that Eryn had served as her flower girl nearly twenty-five years earlier, making the celebration feel even more personal.

Following dinner, guests continued the festivities at a welcome party at Iggy’s. Eryn greeted family and friends who had traveled from near and far while wearing a shortened version of her mother’s wedding dress, a meaningful tribute that beautifully blended family history with modern style.

Wedding day arrived with steady rain, a symbol of good luck and lasting marriage in many traditions. The morning was spent at a nearby hotel where Eryn and her bridesmaids enjoyed Diet Coke, champagne, and laughter while getting ready with the talented team from Brideface. Before seeing one another, the bride and groom exchanged gifts, handwritten notes, and matching bracelets, creating a quiet moment of connection amidst the excitement.

One of the sweetest moments of the morning came during “First Licks” with the couple’s beloved dogs, who were dressed for the occasion in custom floral collars. Eryn also shared emotional first looks with her bridesmaids and father, filling the room with happy tears and joyful anticipation. As a thoughtful gift, she presented her parents with custom handkerchiefs that incorporated fabric from her wedding gown, a keepsake they will treasure forever.

The couple chose to have their first look on the front steps of the historic Taft Museum. Surrounded by the timeless beauty of the venue, they exchanged personal vows and shared their hopes and dreams for the future, creating one of the most intimate moments of the day.

As rain continued throughout the afternoon, plans shifted and the ceremony was moved beneath the reception tent. Rather than dampening the celebration, the change created an atmosphere that felt warm, romantic, and incredibly intimate. While guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, Eryn and Mitch tucked away together for a quiet moment before walking down the aisle.

Officiated by one of their closest friends who had witnessed their relationship grow over the years, the ceremony was filled with heartfelt promises and genuine emotion. As the couple exchanged vows in front of their family and friends, there was hardly a dry eye in attendance. The joy that followed their first kiss as husband and wife was palpable throughout the tent.

The design of the day was equally memorable. Florals by Courtney Lambert Floral, combined with design elements thoughtfully curated by Eryn and her mother, the owner of Elegant Events by Elisa, transformed the tent into a sophisticated and romantic setting. Rich textures, elegant details, and lush floral arrangements created a space that felt both intimate and grand.

By cocktail hour, the weather had finally begun to clear, allowing guests to fully enjoy the beauty of the Taft Museum grounds as well as enjoying the curated art work. Dinner was followed by heartfelt toasts from both the Father of the Groom and Father of the Bride, celebrating the couple’s journey and the families joining together.

One of the evening’s most emotional moments came during the parent dances. In a surprise that touched everyone in attendance, Eryn invited her mother to join her for a mother-daughter dance. Having lost her brother years earlier, Eryn’s mother would never experience a traditional mother-son dance. The unexpected tribute was a beautiful expression of love, remembrance, and gratitude.

As the evening progressed, The Sly Band transformed the reception into an energetic celebration. Guests packed the dance floor, singing and dancing late into the night. To give visiting guests a true taste of Cincinnati, late-night Skyline Chili mini dogs were passed around the dance floor, quickly becoming a crowd favorite.

The celebration concluded in unforgettable fashion as The Sly Band led a lively second-line procession through the venue, escorting the newlyweds and their guests toward the next chapter of the evening, an after-party at the Renaissance Hotel.
